Eric Koretz is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles. At the SXSW in 2011, Eric won “Best Cinematography” in documentaries for his film Dragonslayer, and his commercial credits include The UFC, Under Armour and Banana Boat Suncare, among others. He is also known by the moniker The Image Hunter on his remarkably well-written blog with the same name.

Eric recently decided to try out Profotos’s new line of continuous lights – ProDaylight and ProTungsten. Eric brought the units with him to three different shoots, including a UFC commercial promo, a UTA interview series and a Tabasco commercial. He also wrote a detailed article about his experiences, from which the excerpt below is taken.

“You get the beauty and power of Profoto light. You also get the amazing Profoto Light Shaping Tools for motion picture use. Now the motion picture world can be introduced to the soft push of the Beauty Dish, umbrellas that aren’t used for rain, Giant Reflectors that before was only for the Briese, and Magnums that aren’t just for Tom Selleck in Magnum PI. Sweet.”
