The button-free trigger that lets you be free to create

Less complexity means more opportunities for creativity. That’s why we’ve stripped away all the buttons and dials and replaced them with only the settings that count; auto, manual and off. In auto mode, you automatically get a great exposure in every shot - all you do is point and shoot. Slide it over to manual, and you can fine-tune the light to fit your personal style, either directly on the light or via the Profoto app.

You've never seen a trigger like this. A small, smooth cylindrical pod that fits perfectly on top of your camera. And because it weighs next to nothing, you'll hardly know it's there – regardless what camera you use. Profoto Connect is minimalism personified.

We'd like to think that the Profoto Connect is just the start of a great adventure with flash. Point-and-shoot in auto mode or fine-tune in manual. Either way, whether you're experienced with flash or a flash-curious natural light shooter, there's a world of creative possibilities just waiting to be discovered.
Get it in 30 seconds
TTL and HSS. The expressions might seem technical, but we promise that using these features is actually a piece of cake.

What is TTL?
TTL means that the flash exposure is set automatically, via communication between the camera and light. Based on your camera setting, the camera will select a perfect flash exposure for every shot – no matter how much you or your subject move around. This allows you to be fully focused on the image and being creative – all you need to do is just point and shoot. For the Profoto Connect, TTL is called ‘Auto mode’. You can always switch to manual at any time if you prefer to set the flash manually.

What is HSS?
HSS or High-Speed Sync, enables you to use flash at any shutter speed up to 1/8,000 of a second. That means you are in full control of the ambient light, which is useful when shooting outdoors in sunlight. With HSS you can shape light even with large apertures and at fast shutter speeds. HSS is great for outdoor portraits with shallow depth of field or freezing fast action in broad daylight. Profoto HSS is faster, more powerful and more consistent than any other HSS solution on the market.
AirTTL seamlessly connects your light with your camera
With Profoto AirTTL it’s easy to get the shot fast, because we’ve removed any technical barriers between you and the image that’s taking shape in your imagination. There’s no fiddling around with endless settings and menus in stressful situations. Instead your focus is one hundred percent where it should be, on your client and the image you want to create. You can shoot easier and faster – the very essence of a smart and effective workflow.

Profoto AirTTL provides seamless connectivity between your lights and your camera. If you want to change a setting on any one of the lights you’re using, all you have to do is push a button on the Air Remote or Profoto A1 that’s attached to the hot-shoe of your camera. That’s total control from your shooting position, leaving you free to experiment with light and create amazing images.

Finding the right exposure first time can be a challenge when time is limited or the light is constantly changing. AirTTL automatically finds it for you - so all you need to do is point and shoot. Alternatively, you can switch to manual mode, keep your previous TTL settings and fine tune the exposure until you achieve exactly the look and feel you want.

With Profoto High-Speed Sync (HSS) it doesn’t matter how bright the sun shines. It enables you to use your flash at shutter speeds up to 1/8,000s. So you can overpower the sun and shape your light even with large apertures in broad daylight. Profoto HSS is faster, more powerful and more consistent than any other HSS solution on the market.

Feel free to take on some of the biggest shoots and locations, because Profoto AirTTL provides seamless connectivity across an unbeatable range of 300 meters (1000 ft.). Imagine lighting a football pitch, a church, or an awe-inspiring ice cave in Piztal, Austria for example. AirTTL allows you to create and shape light from the click of a button. But more than that, it allows you to think bigger.
Don’t worry if you shoot with other camera brands that Profoto doesn’t yet support with AirTTL. Choose the standard Air Remote instead. It’s compatible with any camera that has a hot shoe and it still provides the incredible sensation of shooting free, without any cords to cramp your creativity.

Working with the Profoto Connect has actually been a life-changing experience for me, especially as a natural-light photographer. It takes away all the technical aspects of using flash and gives my images the quality and kiss of light that they need.
Using the Profoto A1 in TTL helped in the inconsistent natural light conditions. By adjusting my A1 to High-Speed Sync mode, I was able to have a fast shutter speed and keep my aperture close to wide open.
I absolutely love the TTL to manual function. It allows us to get dialed into our shot faster than we ever have been able to before while using other equipment.
It [TTL] allows us to keep the consistency because we're able to lock in our exposure in a manual setting without having to mess around with a lot of different buttons on the back of our lights.
I didn’t have to think too much. I had to set the light in the right direction and just think about the models’ faces, actions and emotions – just set the light and go.
I think the best thing is that I saved a lot of time on the photo shoot with the Air Remote. I just had to decide about the direction of the light and did not have to think about the output or power of the lighting. So, I had more time to care about the models, location and emotions.
Using the TTL function saved me a lot of time when trying to find the perfect light. I just adjusted my camera to the desired settings and then the Air Remote TTL-S calculated everything for the necessary lighting power on the subject.
I always use TTL for the first test images to set the exposure. When I’ve got the right light, I switch to Manual. That way I get a super-fast workflow and never need to try my way to find the right power output from the flash.
HSS is great for when you want a rich, saturated background but shallow depth of field
I particularly like that once you have a TTL exposure you like, you can simply switch the remote to Manual to lock in that flash output. With the Air Remote TTL-S, there’s no delay and you don’t lose the sync speed. The Profoto equipment was bullet-proof. No missed sync issues.
