Information regarding Profoto A1 for Canon with loose hot-shoe

In recent weeks, we have received feedback on the Profoto A1 for Canon regarding the flash loosing connection with the camera and also feel slightly loose when locked in the cameras hot shoe on some Canon cameras models.

Due to your feedback, we have released an updated version of firmware for the Canon A1 which will solve the connection issue, it can be downloaded at:
My Profoto - Download firmware

The A1 was designed to fit many camera models and due to camera hot shoe tolerances for this reason, the A1 may demonstrate a slight movement on some models. Please note that this in normal and has no effect on performance. However, if this still bothers you, we can replace the flashes hot shoe in our service department. Please send us an e mail with serial number on the A1 unit and we will reach back to you with further information how to proceed. The serial number (10 digits) can be found on the type label on the A1 unit, see image.

Again, we thank you for your valuable feedback and assistance in making Profoto even better.
