  • Clic Softbox improves my photography

    This is the perfect accessory for the Profoto A2…. it comes with a small travel bag and is quick to set-up (just open it). I use my flash more often now!

  • Great until it breaks

    This box has been a game changer for me in terms of setup, weight, and general ease of use. I have trouble with my hands and traditional boxes are very difficult for me setup and break down due to the amount of force required for anything decent. This is so quick and so light. It’s great for location, great for packing. However, the magnetic ring detached onto my flash unit during a gorgeous, misty, sunrise shoot and had to be pried from the unit. Somehow, between the location and studio, so I cannot reattach it. Profoto tells me that they cannot give me a replacement part or service the box- they suggest I just buy a new one. So, this box has had the shortest service life of any I have ever purchased in 20 years. In fact, it’s the only one I have ever had simply break in a way that is unusable. This is not what I would expect from Profoto.

  • Switch to Profoto

    After many years of using dedicated manufacturer speedlites, I decided to swap to Profoto to expand my creative possibilities when using flash. Early days but so far, so good and I’m particularly enjoying how quick and easy the Clic Softbox Octa is use with A-Series flash units.

  • Overall a nice design

    I like the ease of set-up. I will say that for some reason at one point during a shoot, it popped off and landed on the floor. Only has happened once but perhaps, this softbox is a little heavier than the magnet can reliably handle.

  • Quick and easy to use, but high risk of falling

    Good quality and really quick and easy to assemble and attach to the A2 flash. Magnets are strong and keep my A2 stable when handheld. However use very caution on the lightstand as flash easily falls down from any bump. Magnets are not strong enough to protect from any hits from the bottom, which are a common thing when you move lightstand anywhere. For safety I attach flash to lightstand instead of octabox, or another option is to twist flash adapter towards octabox handle so it would lean against it.

  • Super easy and quick to use

    Completely simple and straight forward to use. So quick to setup and the magnets work well to hold the box onto the strobe. I did use the colored lenses as well, I could still use the box but it was a little unstable, fine if no one touched it.

  • Perfect tool

    I‘m very satisfied. It’s sturdy, quickly installed and comes in great quality. I hope to soon see a 120cm version as well as other than octangular shapes.

  • Great for personal branding on location

    It's amazing! Very easy set-up. I do personal branding and definitely recommend the biggest size. Great soft light, but as well a flash effect. Perfect for on-location shoots like in hotels or co-working spaces.
