  • Better than the first but still a bit slippery

    I bought this as to replace the original that suddenly stopped working. A quick fix with a spacer worked a while until it gave up and I got a new one. I like this better but think it could have been designed for use with gloves better.

  • It’s a little better than the original.

    The grooved knob is easier to grip than the older smooth one that came with the original B10 series. The actual tightening mechanism seems to have a slightly more positive grip, less prone to slippage. This matters if you want to use a heavier than OCF modifier or a larger umbrella - that creates a larger force on the light. It is not as robust as the handle and grip on a B1x…so in my view it could still be strengthened. If you want to use the B10 series with a bigger umbrella or an RFI modifier it pays to get these and swap the old ones out.

  • Needed, but...

    First let me say that I’m gjj ok as they addressed the issue with this stand adapter! This was a classic case of form over function! While I appreciate the sleek design, I had many instances where I could not get a grip on the knob and had to use a cloth to adjust my lights. There was also about an 1/8th of an inch play in the stand no matter how hard I tightened it. The new adaptors work perfectly. My issue is, I paid $4000 for my B10 plus kit, then had to shell out $200 to replace something that was just a bad design on Profoto’s part! I love my B10’s, but this was disappointing!

  • This adapter is great, but you can make it even better.

    Head onto ProMediaGear.com and get the Replacement Knob #a35, it's knurled, and bigger, to easy and securely lock the position of this adapter. Love it.

  • Profoto Stand Adapter for B10 OCF

    The version 1 of this adapter is way too slipperty for med to large soft boxes. Version 2 is a little better but the design should be changed to something easier & stronger like the 630 degree handbrake yolk on the Aputure 300d mkii.
