The 7 benefits of Profoto Academy
Real-world photographic scenarios are presented in 1-hour videos by Profoto lighting pros who guide you step-by-step while explaining their thought process along the way. Detailed PDF guides are supplied to go along each video.
Use the lighting gear you currently own – there’s no need to own a Profoto lighting system in order to learn and benefit from any of the Profoto Academy training videos
Academy Live is an online platform that offers you the opportunity to mingle and interact with the photographers behind each of the Profoto Academy videos along with fellow members.
Curious to know how you made out? Profoto Academy instructors review your project and afterwards offer you valuable and constructive feedback along with suggestions on how to further improve your lighting techniques.
One of the many benefits of Profoto Academy is that you get to talk one-on-one with experienced professional trainers and photographers who can answer your questions and help you through any technical issues you might encounter.
Practice makes perfect. Choose a Photo Challenge and apply what you’ve learned by lighting and shooting a real-world scenario and see how far you can run with it.
An easy way to measure your level of understanding of a topic is to take a short quiz. Each video comes with a follow-up quiz that not only confirms what you’ve learned, but clarifies technical and/or creative issues you might have misconstrued the first time around.
Meet-and-greet events are a terrific way to get together, make new acquaintances, and exchange ideas with fellow photographers as well as the people behind the scenes at Profoto Academy. (Note – Until the COVID-19 situation is brought under control these events will be online-only.)
Before you can really understand photography, you have to know your light. It’s the essence of every image. Photography means drawing or painting with light. It’s much more than simply capturing images with your camera, it’s about creating them.
To make your photography stand out, you need to take control of the situation no matter what the light or time of day is. You do this by knowing your light and understanding the direction and distance. It’s not only about having the right light shaping tools. You also need to know how to use these tools. And that’s where Profoto Academy can help you.
Our photographers and instructors will equip you with the knowledge and skills to become a better photographer. It’s an investment every bit as important as the flash you use or the lens you choose. Because it makes you better at what you do.
Completely different from the courses I have taken before. I didn't pause and come back later because it kept my attention. It was to the point!
Laser focused on the desired results rather than trying to be all inclusive of every lighting style
I liked watching Sandy incorporate lighting into the client's environment
