Profoto Connect The button-free trigger
This is Profoto Connect
Profoto Connect is the button-free trigger that is best described by one word: simplicity. It has no buttons, dials or menus – just three settings: auto, manual and off. In auto mode, you just point and shoot for great exposure in every shot. Slide it over to manual, and you can fine-tune the light to fit your personal style – and that’s it. How to use flash has never been easier, and the creative potential in your hands has never been greater.

Less complexity means more opportunities for creativity. That’s why we’ve stripped away all the buttons and dials and replaced them with only the settings that count; auto, manual and off. In auto mode, you automatically get a great exposure in every shot - all you do is point and shoot. Slide it over to manual, and you can adjust the light with full control to fit your personal style, either directly on the light or via the Profoto App. If you are using the Connect in Auto mode and find the automatic flash exposure too bright or too dark, you can fine-tune it in the Profoto app by a simple swipe. It can also be adjusted directly in your camera if it has the "Flash Exposure Compensation" function (sometimes known as "FEC").
You've never seen a trigger like this. A small, smooth cylindrical pod that fits perfectly on top of your camera. And because it weighs next to nothing, you'll hardly know it's there – regardless what camera you use. Profoto Connect is minimalism personified.
We'd like to think that the Profoto Connect is just the start of a great adventure with flash. Point-and-shoot in auto mode or fine-tune in manual. Either way, whether you're experienced with flash or a flash-curious natural light shooter, there's a world of creative possibilities just waiting to be discovered. How to use flash has never been easier.
We created Profoto Connect for image creators who want the flexibility of working with flash easily and without all the complexity. Image creators who wish to have natural and beautiful light in their images but don't have time to wait for the sun to play ball. But most of all, we created Profoto Connect for the image creators who want to grow and expand their creative horizons. Who want the freedom to move fast, travel light and still have the ability to push their boundaries ever further.
Be free to create
Profoto Connect is the button-free trigger that unlocks light easier than ever before and allows you to be free to create. Because when you remove all the buttons and complexity, you have more room to be creative and focus on getting the shot you want.
Audrey Woulard, originally a natural-light shooter, had tried flash in the past but thought it was too complex and only slowed her down. So, we sent her the Profoto Connect, one A1 and challenged her to be free to create beautiful images all around Barcelona - in one single day. Follow her adventure below.
Mira & Thilda create dreamy portraits in Marrakech with the Profoto Connect and A1Swedish sisters Mira & Thilda return to Marrakech to create the dreamy portraits they always envisioned but couldn’t create before, when using natural light only.
All you have to do is put it on your camera and go. We no longer feel limited by natural light and that is exactly what it is all about - to be free to create— wherever and whenever.
Compared with what we'd previously experienced, the Profoto Connect is user-friendly and easy to understand - suddenly everything seems so logical.
Working with the Profoto Connect has actually been a life-changing experience for me, especially as a natural-light photographer. It takes away all the technical aspects of using flash and gives my images the quality and kiss of light that they need.
