Photography-Inspired Annual Party Benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation Aims to Raise $100,000 for Parkinson's Research

Photo Shoot for a Cure, an annual event raising money and awareness for Parkinson’s research, is set to be held on Saturday, September 22nd at Boston’s District Hall from 6-10pm. Established by celebrity photographer Diana Levine, Photo Shoot for a Cure brings together photographers, stylists, artists, and creatives from all around New England for one purpose: to help find a cure for Parkinson's disease. Past Photo Shoot for a Cure events have raised over $80,000 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, whose goal is to eliminate Parkinson’s disease in our lifetime. This year they are aiming to top $100,000!

The event itself is a photography-inspired cocktail party where guests can have their pictures taken in multiple photo shoot booths. Organized by over 70 volunteers, many of whom have family members with Parkinson's or are living with PD themselves, provide photo opportunities including portraits with family or friends, headshots, fashion photography and more. There will also be a silent auction, photo art gallery, live portrait illustrations, and speeches by leading Parkinson's researchers!

Included in the evening’s events is the opportunity for guests to be made camera-ready by event partners including Sephora Prudential Center, James Joseph Salon, Blo Blow Dry Bar Seaport and Polished Nail Boutique. Proceeds from these activities will be put toward the goal of raising $100,000.

Event founder Diana Levine has photographed public figures such as Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Kim Kardashian, President Clinton, and New Kids on the Block and her clients include Rolling Stone, Billboard, Converse and MTV. She was inspired to launch Photo Shoot for a Cure, now in its third year, after her mother was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's disease.

“I was nineteen years old when my Mom was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s disease; she was in her forties. I was devastated,” said Levine on what it's been like to support her mother throughout her diagnosis. “However, I’ve watched in awe as my Mom works every day, through exercise, nutrition, and education, to fight her disease. Photo Shoot for a Cure is my way of supporting her fight.”

Join us in helping Diana reach this incredible goal by attending the event or making a donation!

Tickets for Photo Shoot for a Cure are on sale now through Eventbrite. People can also support the event by making a donation to Team Fox Photo Shoot for a Cure.
